Salto de Penitente

From Minas City, following a winding road through hills and valleys, this is a journey through Uruguay’s beautiful countryside.  Your destination is an pristine hill with a splashing waterfall as the Rio del Penitente makes it way down to the bottom of a valley.

On your way to the falls, you will pass an archaic quarry and centuries old stone construction.  Then it’s through eucalyptus covered hills until the sound of the falls becomes apparent in the crisply fresh air.  Once at your destination, take a swim at the bottom of these majestic falls.
