El Centinella Horse Farm

The Terras (Uruguayan natives) are a very talented, loving family who have bought half of a mountain about 1/2 hour outside of Punta del Este.  The mountain is pristine, with lots of exposed ledge and heather in addition to a virgin stream running right through the farm.  

Several years ago the Terras built an adobe farmhouse and filled it with antiques from Spain and Uruguay.  They built a swimming pool outside the farmhouse that follows the natural shape of the boulders they found there.  They have a gorgeous outside patio with a huge built-in barbecue pit.  The Terras believe in what is beautiful in Uruguay and they believe in ecotourism.  The oldest son is a horse whisperer who has trained a herd of 25 quarter horses with no trauma or fear.  As a result the horses are sweet and gentle and not afraid of people.

This establishment can offer you delicious lunches at the farm and/or high tea.  You may go horseback riding, swimming and hiking.  You can also take trips by kayak or canoe up virgin rivers with the opportunity to catch some very big fish.  You will love it!
